You're not missing anything, everybody means "6.0.1" in this thread.

That's very strange.  I have not heard any other reports of problems with
the 6.0.1 HFS FST.  Installing the 6.0 version is *not* a good answer. 
The 6.0.1 FST *does* have at least one bug fix over the 6.0 version.

Do you have problems even if you boot with Extensions off (hold down
shift)?  Can you determine whether your problems are in copying *to* or
*from* the HFS partition?
