Well, to tell the truth, I have been wrestling with adding Eliza to the SSII
Disk Library for a couple of years, and keep deciding against it.
The greatest, best, and most outrageous version of Eliza that I've ever had
the pleasure of using was written by Karl Bunker. He has 3 different
versions; one I think was in Basic, one I think was in assembler, but the
most (in)famous version of all is available under 2 different
names...Eliza*Bitch, and Eliza*Brat. The only difference is the name.
It starts out just like all the other Elizas, until you decide to curse her
out. When you do, she comes back at you as a foul mouthed monster. She'll
insult you, accuse you performing unnatural acts with sheep, and just
generally harass you and curse you out.
I'd been wanting to write about that for inCider for years, but every time I
brought it up to my editor, he nixed the idea, as inCider was a "family
oriented magazine". As much as I personally get a kick out of Eliza Monster,
I don;t want to offend anyone, and I especially don't want to get an irate
letter from the mother of 8 year old Johnny. So, I've decided against making
it available.
It's DOS 3.3 if I remember correctly, and should be available for
downloading from all the commercial networks. I'm sure someone else has it
and would be happy to ftp it somewhere. It really is pretty amusing...
