Apple released an 8-bit finder (not color, and not really powerful) with
the original GS. it DOES run on a IIc (I use it all the time) with
amouse, so
I imagine it works on a IIe. 
As far as I know, there is no provision for launching DOS programs from
it, but I could be wrong.  I know it's available
in the library on DELPHI...
