What to do with apple II gs

I've got a 6 year old gs which was never used much, and I'm trying to
decide whether to try to use it (which I'm sure will require upgrading memory
and disk, etc.) or try to sell it & look for something new.

I'm interested in finding out about upgrading it to the latest OS rev
(it's never been upgraded since purchase), sources for inexpensive software,
hardware upgrades (memory, disk, etc.).

Any information which you might like to offer would be appreciated.
