Well here goes,
When people ask me what kind of computer I have, I tell them I own an Apple
][gs.  About half think I mean a Mac II.  I promptly inform them that the
Apple ][ is a different computer series, line, whatever.  Some of these
people were so clueless they even asked what company made Apple ]['s.
This leads me to believe that the problem isn't how many people think the
Apple ][ is dead,but instead how many more don't even know the machine ever
existed.  Sigh.
