Picked up a floptical drive the other day for $285, which is the
lowest price I've ever seen. I don't have all of the SCSI cables yet,
so I couldn't hook it up to my GS without unhooking the hard drive.
I'm running this on a RamFAST 3.0k (I think it's k).
I was able to format a high density disk at 1.4 Meg, but I couldn't
format a floptical at 21 Meg. I hard to boot 6.01 from a floppy (a
painful experience) and start the finder from the system tools disk.
Once I did that, I just inserted a blank high density disk in the
floptical, and finder asked if I wanted to format.
But when I did the same thing with the floptical disk, nothing
happened. Thinking that my older roms didn't recognize removeable
media, I restarted the machine and attempted the same thing again. No
good.
So, anyone have any thoughts on the matter? What's Sequential's
number, so I can order the newest roms? I should have the thing
properly cabled by the end of the week (hopefully).
