    Double-density disks are formatted to 800K on a GS.

    Yes, you can squeeze a bootable System 6.01 setup onto a single
floppy, but it'll be very cramped.  You can delete the Finder and GS/OS
will use a very simple program launcher only.  The HFS FST and a few
fonts will fit.  AWGS will take up an entire disk, plus another if you
want to use the dictionary and thesaurus.  Then you need the data disk. 
Even with two drives, you will have to swap disks.  A hard drive is
highly recommended, to say the least!
