I don't know which post to reply to, Matt's or Jim's, but I'll use Jim's :-)

I hope I speak for everyone when I say we thank and appreciate Matt, Jim, Dave,
and others within Apple C. who monitor csa2.  We know you don't do it because
you have to, but because you like to.  You don't speak for Apple, but you know
a lot more about Apple's plans than the rest of us do.  That is why we turn
to you for help so often.  And you are _darn_ good at what each of you do!

We do understand that with only 3-people in software engineering working on
SS6.0.1, it simply was not possible to rewrite the Stylewriter driver, or to
write drivers for the Stylewriter II and other Apple equipment.  We aren't
chiding or blaming you.  You did a great, super job.

I will never accept the fact that Apple C. refuses to support the Apple II
users.  It _does_ support us, (I think).  But part of that support is
drivers for Apple peripherals.  Third-party should be allowed to develop
drivers etc., but I really believe that Apple C should provide the software
support for its own equipment.  That equipment includes printers, CD-Roms,
scanners, etc.  I think it is evident from their posts that Matt and Jim
won't be able to do it, and I'm pretty sure Dave Lyons isn't in a position
to be able to do it, so we must pressure Apple C. to hire some more people
and recreate an Apple II continuing software support group.

It would be most helpful if Matt, Jim, or Dave, could suggest some department
or persons at Apple C. to contact with our concerns.  Surely, there must be 
some Apple II supporters within Apple besides Matt, Jim, and Dave.  Who can
we contact to get help for them, to help the Apple II grow and be the kind
of machine one need never ever outgrow?
