stubborn HD icons

I have 'set up' a 2nd IIgs at a friend's home, and for the life of me
can't get my own icons to replace the standard Hard drive icons.
This is not just for cosmetic reasons, I have 5 partitions and my
icons are much smaller than the generic ones.
Incidently, my icons are alive and well on the other gs.
Could someone please help out? I've run out of ideas :(
