    All the newer PowerBooks (and Duos, perhaps?) have a SCSI slave mode
where it simply acts as an external hard drive.  The PB100 also had this
feature, but not the 140, 145 or 170.  There's a third-party product
available which lets those three models act as a SCSI device as well. 
You just hook it up like any other hard drive (providing you have the
funky PB SCSI cable).
