No, the disks have a different format for PRODOS -the most common Apple II
OS- than for Mac; however, you can format PRODOS disks in your Mac's drive
trhough Apple File Exchange -included with most Macs as far as I know-.
Most Apple II software available for downloading is compressed with a
utility called ShrinkIt! -shareware available wherever there is Apple II
software to download-.
The process is very simple, just download ShrinkIt! -the Self-extracting
copy- to your Mac, together with any other software you wish, open Apple
File Exchange after ending communications, insert a blank or PRODOS
formatted disk in the Mac, and have Apple File Exchange translate the files
to the disk. You will have to decompress any shrunk file -suffixes BQY, BXY,
SHK are the most common- to run them in the Apple.
Furthermore, there are some Apple files GS specific -PRODOS 16-, and others
than run in only ][+, IIc and IIe enhanced. Several more run in any Apple.
SOme are in Pascal. others in DOS 3.3, but most will be in either PRODOS 8
or 16 -the 8 stands for 8 bits, and the 16 for 16 bits; the difference
between real Apple II's and the GS-.
Hope this helps!
