Issue #3 is currently under construction. Although I'd hoped to knock a few
weeks off the production schedule, it looks like Issue #3 will be going out
to subscribers mid-month (November).
Issue #3 will contain a long article about the Internet. "Such A Deal" will
contain special money saving offers on products from WestCode Software.
Grapevine will have a special sneak peek at the AppleWorks GS v1.2 update,
with information provided directly by one of the programmers working on that
project. Due to non-disclosures, that programmer spoke to me on condition of
anonymity (so, don't even ask). What else? Shareware Solutions IIGS is about
HyperStudio and will include write ups and reviews of several wonderful (but
unknown) freeware HS stacks. I also got an awesome disk of GS animations
yesterday that were unlike anything I'd ever seen before, and hope to
include a review of those, along with one or two seasonal freeware.
Shareware Solutions IIe/IIc/IIgs will include reviews of Charles Hartley's
wonderful shareware typing tutor program, and (maybe, if there's space)
reviews of a couple of "classic" IIe/IIc freeware games.
I am anticipating a few days delay, as my printer has been coming up with
excuses on why everything is taking longer than promised. AAnd, I'm not sure
if anyone noticed, but I had Issue #2 proof-read by someone that has taugh
English for 30 years, and will do the same for Issue #3. Since my proof-
reader doesn't know anything about computers, all the proofs get sent by US
Mail, and that also takes a couple of days.
So, a few things are adding to delays, but I'm hoping to make up for those
delays by hosting a "mailing party". Hard as it is for me to believe, it
took 4 days for me to fold and stamp and mail Issue #2. A few people who are
members of my local user group have volunteered to help. I'll supply the
pizza.
Issue 1 and 2 went into the mail on the 20th of the month, and I hope to
have Issue #3 in the mail on or around November 20th. Give or take a day or
three. Wish me luck. Some days, the words just flow, but on other days...
