Re: SS II (was Re: Seven Hills Software)

Thank you. With the recent mentions of Shareware Solutions II in both II
Alive and The AppleWorks Forum, a lot of people have been subscribing to
SSII. Since the vast majority of new subscribers include a note asking to
start out their subscription with the premiere issue, I've just had my
printer do yet another print run of the first 2 issues.
I figure I now have enough extra copies of issues 1 and 2 to be able to
start off any new subscriber with those first 2 issues. However...I'm
thinking that come 1994, people may not want to read 'last year's news', so
after 1/1/94, will probably just start new subscribers off with the then
current issue, while making older issues available as 'back issues'.
Also, since I had originally anticipated that SSII would be a 12 page
newsletter, but in reality it has grown to a 20 page newsletter, I am
thinking about raising prices in 1994. So, I just wanted to let people know
that in advance.
Also, after listening to suggestions from the net and thinking them over
for a couple of weeks, I have decided that I will be creating a "sample"
issue using HyperStudio. I'll probably use a representative sample of
articles from each of the ongoing columns in Shareware Solutions II, just
so people can see for themselves what Shareware Solutions II is all about,
and can see for themselves that it's about much more than Apple II
shareware.
But, first things first. I am currently working on Issue #3, and hope to
have it completed and in the mail by mid-month (give or take a couple of
days). After I finish that issue, then I'll get to work on the HyperStudio
sampler stack. In a way, I don't know if an electronic version can do
justice to a newsletter that you can hold in your hands, but the people
have asked, and the people shall receive.
