Ethernet solutions
While we're at it, I could use a little help:
Drivers for e-net adaptors (regardless of flavor) are going to require the use
of interrupts to work efficiently (that should read: work at all) with my
TCP/IP and GNO. This poses a potential problem with the current SCSI cards in
use by IIgs folks...
I've got a rev. C SCSI card, and that uses a 5380 SCSI controller chip. The
IRQ pin from this chip and the /IRQ pin on the slot connector are not connected
to anything on the rev. C card, but this could be easily modified with the
addition of a 7405, some creative soldering, and possibly a bit of driver
re-writing (ta-da!). Oh how simple that would have been to include in the
original design (think to the future, guys).
First, I need somebody to yank an Apple DMA SCSI card and a RAMFast card, and
find out what's up with them. Specifically, check to see if the /IRQ pin on
the slot connector has a trace running to it. That's the 5th pin from the back
of the card on the solder side. If it does, could some knowledgeable soul
trace it down and figure out what it's used for?
Second, I need to know what controller chip the Apple DMA SCSI card uses (is it
the 5380), and similarly -> the RAMFast.
Also, anyone with an overabundance of information on either of these two boards
is hereby encouraged to forward it to me.
Replies will be greatly appreciated...
