This is (probably) because you are logged in to the UNIX system with
your TERM environment variable set to something other than the
emulation to which you have ProTERM set (if you have selected any in
ProTERM at all.)
The one and only simple remedy which comes to mind is
1--Enter the online parameters section in ProTERM and select "VT-100"
as your terminal emulation, and
2--Make sure your TERM environment variable is set to "vt100" from the
command line by "set term=vt100" in csh or similar shells, or
"export TERM=vt100" in ksh or similar shells.
| The software has options for some various terminal settings,
| including DEC VT-100, DEC VT-52, and some others.
See above.
| Is it possible to use this setup and software to connect to the
| Internet and my Unix account at Rutgers properly?
I fairly sure it is. I'm using an Apple //c with ProTERM, a GVC 2400
external modem (in rn and using emacs) right now. ;-)
| Any suggestions or assistance is MUCH appreciated!

| Thanks,
You're welcome.
