A good start would be to encourage any of your Apple // friends to get a 
modem.  Since, if you have a modem, can pick up a modem pretty cheap ( :) 
, you can get them one.  Then get them onto some net, such as internet or 
FV net.  Advertising through school boards is a good idea, as well as the 
computer section in the library.
