Re: Procyon vs Seven Hills, why?

It'll be fine...

free mem: 1227k (72% used) max block: 1121k
real free mem: 1232k (72% used) total mem: 4352k
 free bank 0 mem: 16k (75% used) real free bank 0: 16k (75% used)

processID bank 0 other command line
 --------- ------ ------ ------------
         1 2k 308k NullProcess
         2 512 11k init
         3 384 27 syslogd
         4 2k 94k -gsh
         5 384 17k /usr/sbin/uptimed
         6 512 26k /usr/sbin/lpd
        59 6k 337k /cube/system/finder
         8 512 0 lpd spooler
        60 1024 33k copycat .ttya .ttyco
        61 1024 0 cc-modem
        62 1024 0 cc-console
        64 512 5k mem -p
 desk.accs 0 467k
     gs/os 10k 102k
     tools 0 214k
 purgeable 0 5k
     other 2k 1384k

Still a lot left as you can see. There is a newer copy cat that uses 2k
of stack total, and when GNO supports select(), James said it will be
down to one process, so I guess it'll use just 1k. :)

Let me load Switch-It! with a bunch of 4k stack applications:

free mem: 71k (99% used) max block: 16k
real free mem: 69k (99% used) total mem: 4352k
 free bank 0 mem: 11k (82% used) real free bank 0: 11k (82% used)

processID bank 0 other command line
 --------- ------ ------ ------------
         1 2k 308k NullProcess
         2 512 11k init
         3 384 27 syslogd
         4 2k 94k -gsh
         5 384 17k /usr/sbin/uptimed
         6 512 26k /usr/sbin/lpd
        65 9k 354k /cube/system/switchit
         8 512 0 lpd spooler
        67 1024 33k copycat .ttya .ttyco
        68 1024 0 cc-modem
        69 1024 0 cc-console
        71 512 5k mem -p
 desk.accs 0 467k
     gs/os 10k 134k
     tools 0 264k
 purgeable 0 2k
     other 3k 2443k

Inside Switch-It!, I have it set to 4k stack sharing, and I have Finder,
Reslin, Genesys, Foundation, Teach, and ShrinkIt all loaded. Still
quite a bit of bank 0 left. This shows how cool SI!'s stack swapping
is.
