Re: Repairing DISK ][ Drives

Am interested in the tuneup procedures (from Joe Walters) for fixing
the Disk ][ drive.
But where can you buy the round felt pressure pads for the drive arm?  I have
several drives that need new pressure padsbut no dealer (especially not the
Apple dealer) stocks replacement pressure pads.

BTW, why are we advised not to lubricate the parts inside the Disk ][ drive?
I have in the past placed small amounts of vaseline peroleum jelly on the
shiny round slider guides, with no harmful effects.  Please explain.
