For SSII Subscribers

If you're a subscriber to Shareware Solutions II and have been recently
thinking about buying a hard disk drive....DON'T!!

Sorry to dash your plans, but if you can hold off your purchase until
Issue #3 of Shareware Solutions II appears, you'll be able to save some
big bucks on SCSI external hard drives. In Issue #3, there will be a
special "Such A Deal" offer available ONLY to subscribers. Some more
details need to be worked out on costs, but it looks like you'll be able
to purchase a 42 meg hard drive for about $149. Pricing on a 127 meg
should be in the "ballpark" of around $250. Pricing on a 170 meg will be
less than $300. All these prices are, for now, approximations.

Many Shareware Solutions II subscribers have purchased hardware and
software through the "Such A Deal" offers and because of that, even more
hardware manufacturers and software publishers want to make you special
offers. In fact, developers are now contacting me, rather than me
contacting them. They want to sell discounted products to Shareware
Solutions II subscribers, and who am I to argue <grin>?

Tai - I saw your question about special pricing for HardPressed. I have
invited WestCode Software to take part in SSII's "Such A Deal", and they
are very interested in extending special pricing to subscribers of
Shareware Solutions II. But, nothing has been decided. I'd sure like to
have WestCode in Issue #3.

It seems like "Such A Deal" is quickly becoming SSII's most popular
feature. In each issue, subscribers are given the option to purchase
hardware and software at a discount, directly from the manufacturer or
publisher. Shareware Solutions II does not make a penny on these special
offers, in fact, several "kickbacks" have been refused as they would
compromise the integrity of the only Apple II publication that strives to
be the "Consumer Reports" of the Apple II world.
