AT&T 14.4 Modem IIe SSC

I have a IIe and a AT&T 14.4 Dataport modem.  I would like to do file
transfers at 4800 to 9600 baud.  So far I get errors when I try a file
transfer. Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem.  I have my SSC wired stright to my
modem, pins 1-8,20 to pins 1-8,20.

Does anyone have a IIe working above 2400 baud?
