Hi,
I know this has been discussed many a time, but i was in my local
Tesco's (UK supermarket) yesterday and noticed they had a 15.4inch LCD
TV HD Ready with Scart (RGB) and component input, vga etc. I spent
ages a while back investigating LCD TVs with scart to see a good
replacement for my IIGS monitor for day to day use. In the end had it
working on a 20inch Samsung, but got rid of that due to size and it
was a £300...anyway.
On a whim (as i have my second GS out for playing with my new shiny
Carte Blanche...) i decided that for £99 i would try this Tesco TV and
see if the RGB Scart was any good for the GS and if it didn't i could
take it back or maybe keep it for the bedroom.
Well i have to say the picture was brilliant (and better than my
Highway vga converter or any previously tested Scart LCD TVs i tested)
and if anyone in the UK is after a LCD for their GS i would pick this
up (obviously get the necessary GS scart lead too :)).
What freaked me out was that i got sound out of the TV too...can
anyone please explain how lol....I have a ROM01 GS (with ZIPGSX, 4MB,
CFFA etc). The LCD is only connected to the RGB port of my GS and
there isn't a stereo sound card in it or any line out...just standard
speaker. At first i did think maybe i was hearing things and plugged
headphones in the GS ...but sound still came out LCD TV clear as
anything.
Is it possible that the Scart cable has audio cables connected inside
the cable and its picking up noise from my ROM01??
