Re: I don't like LRO (LONG)

                       LRO MAIL ORDER

I too had an experience with LRO about a year and a half ago. Eventually,
after much effort, it was resolved satisfactorily. But at the time I got
very upset about it.

I have a IIe system loaded with interface cards which in 1991 suffered from
power overload. I needed a heavy-duty IIe power supply. Cheaper ones
were available as generics elsewhere, but I paid a premium price to get the
Applied Engineering HD power supply from LRO. When it arrived it was a
generic model, with no AE warranty card or AE instructions. It performed no
better in the computer than my standard Apple power supply.

I wrote several times and got no replies. Eventually, some ten months
later, and after filing a complaint with the postal inspectors, LRO
supplied me with a real AE power supply.

I would have been happy to get a refund for the price difference between
the AE product and the generic clone. (BTW, yes, I realize that AE
does get these from a third party supplier. But the one I got as a
genuine AE product really DOES outperform the first one they sent me.)
