Apple IIe and Citizen 200GX

Hi,
    I'm hoping someone has a suggestion(s) for my current dilemma.
I've recently gotten back into the Apple II scene with the purchase
of a used IIe (enhanced).  I'd like to use the printer I'm using with
my 486, a Citizen 200GX.  I tried setting up a custom printer in Appleworks
2.0 to use for printing.  Unfortunately, the result is less than desirable.
What I get when I print is a rectangle of text about 10 characters wide
printing about 2/3rds of the way across the page.  I got the same result
when printing a text file using Copy II+ (I forget which version).

Has anyone successfully used this combination (Apple IIe and Citizen
200GX)?  I'm using a Grappler + as a parallel interface.  Any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated.
