The bottom line of this view is that he is not evil, however, what
could you expect from someone that had an English first name and a
German second. There are bound to be internal/external conflicts that
none of us could ever understand :-)
All kidding aside, we need to look a bit more dispasionatly (sp?) at
what he is trying to say. Ian is totally dedicated to the Apple ][ in
general and the Apple IIgs in particular. He also has the egocentric
view that all of us nerdy types have that only our views are correct.
He has worked very hard to become an expert in several areas of the
IIgs and thus gets defensive when someone makes a statement about these
areas that he views as totally wrong. Rather than disagee in a mild
way, he comes on like Tarzan/Superman to let the "offender" that he is
wrong.
The previous poster viewed this as totally bad. I disagee. I would
suggest that Ian should continue as he thinks correct and the rest of
us should respond in a "A warm and friendly manner," in an effort to
convince him that we are correct. In doing so we might find out through
the dialog that follows that we are less correct than Ian in some cases.
I don't think this approach would be appropriate to all those that,
from time to time, post intemperate postings, however, there are those
that have enough to offer that the effort is bound to be well worth it.
The bottom line is, I fully expect Ian to post to the net those things
in SSII #2 that he did not know prior to its publication. (This is not
a put down or a challange, just my reading of this individual from the
net i.e, honorable.)
Kind Regards,
