Special characters are OPTION-key combinations. Accents are added by doing
the appropriate OPTION-key, followed by the letter to be accented.
(skipping to the meat)
option-e will give you a / accent, option-`, the other, option-i, a
^ accent, and option-u will give you the two dots.
Remember not all fonts have accented characters.
