BACKUPII & PRODOS 2.0.1 ?

Hi,
I am having trouble getting Apple's BackupII to run.
I am using an enhanced IIe with a SCSI hard drive.  BackupII works from its 
floppy (with prodos 1.8 on it) but when I try to boot it from a sub-dir in 
the hard disc, it goes into the basic code (? numbers on lines beginning 
with asterisks?) and stops.

I have tried using the MINISEL program and the LAUNCHER program to start it, 
and starting BACKUPII directly without them.

Does/should it work with Prodos 2.0.1?
