SCSI Termination question

Hey y'all,
I have a question dealing with SCSI termination. What I want to do is
hook up from my SCSI card to an unterminated drave and then from the
unterminated drive to a 6 foot SCSI cable with a terminator and SOMTIMES a
drive connected but most of the time not. I figure if I connect a 50-50 pin
cable and one of those 50pin passthrough terminators that I should be able
to do this. Any thoughts????
