Oh, I should keep my mouth shut (fingers off the keyboard?), but I can't resist
:-) My impression is that v4.0 is basically a patch program to aw3.0, but that
is fine by me. I have the impression aw3 was written with all sorts of hooks
and doesn't really need to be rewritten from scratch (which would imply more
bugs introduced). I run a pretty heavily patched aw3 now (Timeout to the max,
double data, total control, superfonts and reportwriter DBdoubler, etc.). In
one exchange of email with Andy Brandt he said Quadriga would be even more
powerful than what is available with all the Timeout stuff now available, and
that I would defineately want the upgrade. So based on that, I think aw4.0
would be more than what you can get now with aw3 and all the TimeOut stuff.
And I have no problems if it requires aw3 as a base to build on. It still
will be a superior product! I'm not waiting around for a vaporware v5.0!
Ahmen, or whatever one says when stumbling off the soapbox :-)
