No, I don't think so.  The modem cable has pins 2 & 3 reversed (on the
DB-25 end) when compared to a printer cable.

Of course, if you built a printer-to-modem converter (using male and
female DB-25 connectors), you could use the cable that way.  Just map
all connected pins (usually much less than 25) to the same pin number on
the other side, with the exception of pins 2 & 3 (which are reversed).
