Probably someone else has picked this one up; but just in case...
As an employee of IBM I can tell you that we do manufacture SCSI drives. Quite
nice ones, too. Not rebadged. I have a Type 671 on my Mac+ file server.
Apple built their SCSI code to favour certain "qualified" drives. They can be
identified by a little Apple sticker (similar to the ols 16-sector stickers) on the rear of the drive. (Sorry about the wrap-around and typos :).
