Well, _my_ 'cheap' amplified speakers are a pair of nice headphones plugged in
to my Marantz SR3600 amp hooked up to my GStereo card (I know, I know, not the
best stereo card out there :)  I don't think it's any of these things because
Shellplay, soniqTracker play with very little noise.
