The biggest IDE drive I've seen is ~550mb. All high compacity, high
performance drives are SCSI-2 these days, and all the big SCSI-2 drives
have $1/mb or less. Quantum 1.8g PD series for like $1499, and so on.
Quantum LPS240s for right about $250. All the prices I'm talking are just
for bare drives, however.
Only exception to under $1/mb I see right now is the ultra high performance
3.5" Seagate Baracudas ( and very few others ), these drives have some
awesome specs. :-)
