I was very impressed. This is a very good first issue. Joe mentioned
changes in System 6.0.1 which I had not found listed in any other review.
Joe is also building a library of shareware which may be purchased at a
very reasonable price. The newsletter lists names, addresses, and phone
numbeers for companies which will be very useful (e.g. repair hard
drives). At a price of $25 for 12 issues, you can't beat the price.

The mailing address is as follows:

Joe Kohn
166 Alpine St
San Rafael, CA 94901.

Send Joe $25 for a 12 issue subscription in the US."
(Or, $40 for an overseas subscription.)

Perhaps the most poignant remarks of any heard about Shareware Solutions
II are those posted by Ray McAnally on the Ogg-Net. It should be noted
that Ray is sysop of the GravenStein Apple IIGS User Group's BBS, and I am
Vice President of that same user group. So, Ray is a friend who sees
things a little differently; he knows me personally. His remarks:

"Joe is quickly becoming the best source of information for the Apple II.
He literally has thousands of disks at his house, many of which are
programs that no one else has even seen in this country. His connnections
to the developers are without par and he truly enjoys sharing his
 knowledge with others.

With the demise of inCider/A+, Joe has lost his primary source of
income. This newsletter is also hoped to become his bread and butter. We
all talk about how we will support those who support us, now is the time
to put your money where your mouth is."

Lastly, Steve Disbrow, publisher of GS+ Magazine says:

"I just want to take a second to plug Joe Kohn's new newsletter Shareware
Solutions II. Joe was passing out complementary copies at KansasFest, and
I gotta say that I was very impressed with it. Good information, good
writing, and a very nice design.

If you are serious about your IIGS, you need to give this publication a
try."

Now, speaking as the publisher of Shareware Solutions II, I just don't
understand why more people haven't subscribed. The newsletter has gotten
rave reviews, a 12 issue subscription costs only $25 (in the US or Canada;
$40 for anywhere else), and it comes with a MONEY BACK GUARATEE. The worst
feedback that SSII has gotten was that someone pointed out that one
sentence didn't have a verb in it.

In Issue #1, subscribers were offered an incredible 50% off discount on
just about everything from Seven Hills software. With just one purchase
from Seven Hills, SSII will pay for itself. And, in Issue #2, readers will
receive additional money saving offers on even more Apple II hardware and
software.

Some subscribers have said that Shareware Solutions II is better than
inCider ever was, and is better than II Alive.

So, what else do I have to do to convince *YOU* to subscribe?

Joe Kohn
Publisher, Shareware Solutions II

(Who knew starting a new Apple II newsletter would be an uphill battle,
but never realized it would be so darn difficult to attract subscribers.)
