Re: What computer would you buy to replace your //* ?
So you bought an Amiga, and I hope you are ready for Amiga Day which is
September 1.
Now for your question, which is one I have been asking my self for the
past year. Just how am I going to choose my next computer? I have talked
with owners of all the major machines and none are happy with the way the
home office treats them. The storys are almost all the same, so that mean I
can not make a chose(?) by looking at the company.
Next is the hardware, both the main cpu and all the extra goodies. My
brother has sent me a cliping that showed side by side specs on a wide
range of machines. I saw only little differences between like sizes of
computers with their prices. So there was no black and white with hard
ware.
The last thing I can talk about and look into are the programs that run
on the different machines. A wordprocessor is a wordprocess, and a data
base is a data base, but the lates release for one platform might have a
few extra goodies that the other wont have for months. Main thing tho is
that all the platform, major ones, are going to have programs that do the
same things.
So I droped the whole issue, it a mess and it is going to stay that way.
But when the time comes that I do buy my next machine, it will be the one
that will fill my needs, which is graphic art. They can all do it, but the
one company that does not *$#@$#@ too many people is the one I am going to
buy my machine from.
