What computer would you buy to replace your //* ?

Ok, this is no flame bait... Just a discussion I'd like to start. I really
don't want it to be a flame war of some sort, so keep cool. :-)

I already mentioned this weeks ago, but got only one answer. I want to get more
opinions.

We all know that the //gs is the last computer of the once-glorious // series.
I mean, there won't be another //.
Even though Apple is still supposed to support it, it does so with less and
less good will. Took me 6 month to have the fried motherboard of my //e
swapped. When I bough it, back in 1984, it would have taken less than a week,
and in the while I would have beeen lent a spare CPU.

So, I like computers, not just Apple IIs, even though I've spent almost ten
years enjoying them.
I also do not intend to keep on working with an outdated computer. Even though
my //gs and //e still are very useful, nowadays computer specs make me drool,
like //gs specs did.

Now my question is : would you decide now to buy a new computer (real new, not
a second hand //gs), which one would you purchase ?

There has been a few posts here from people who *had* to buy Macs, for work. So
I though it would be a good discussion topic.

As for me, I hate Macs and PCs, because they're way too "closed" for me. I like
open things that can easily be customized and programmed. Amiga was the only
name I could come up with, and I haven't be disappointed at all by my recent
purchase.

P.S. I still uses my gs (and I don't work for CBM :-).
