    There were a couple of projects started to port UUCP to the GS.  I'm
not sure what happened to them.  Check with csa2.gno.

    Nn is a UNIX-based newsreader, so unless you have a UNIX box at
home, you can't use it for "offline" reading.  The QWK format has a lot
of problems with Usenet messages.  Read alt.usenet.offline-reader for
details on the upcoming SOUP (Simple Offline Usenet Protocol) format. 
If you have GNO and MicroEMACS, you can also check out my MuGS offline
reader package.  Version 2.0 is available on pindarus.cs.uiuc.edu and
sandman.caltech.edu.  Coding on 3.0 is done, but I'm still working on
debugging some C source and writing the documentation (long).
