Time again to grab the FAQs:
Extension What is it? (What program do I use?)
--------- ---------------------------------------------------------------
    .SHK NuFX archive. (Shrinkit)
    .BSC BinScii file. [TEXT] (BinScii)

In short a .BSC file is a binary file that has been transformed into a text
file because some terminal programs interpret bytes with values below 0x80
(or was it 0x20?) as control codes. The transformation avoids this
misinterpretation.
