I think by terminal "die-hards", Murph means "those who have not
yet sold their souls to apple.com". I could be mistaken.

And as for "spurring hardware sales", we all know the history of the
IIGS and Apple's policy of "non-disclosure" of the availability of
the product to their dealers. It doesn't matter whether this was
due to a poor sales staff or a poor marketing strategy, the end
result was that AppleIIGS owners, most of whom MADE APPLE WHAT IT
IS, were left out on a limb -- buy MAC, IBM, AMIGA, etc... or
suffer it out as best you can.

I personally cannot afford a new computer and thanks to Apple the
one I have has little resale value. So much for loyalty.

Just another example of how what is "legal" in corporate terms does
not necessarily mean what is "right". Murph's comments come off as
"superior" at best...as if Apple dictates to the consumer what should
be done with technology that they just "sit on" while we suffer.

All I can say is that Apple is gonna be mighty surprised one of these
days, when the Mac customers wise up to their crap (ala the IIvx->Centris
fiasco). BTW -- are the IIvx's actually selling? How many dealers
got screwed on this one?
