First off, it's Shareware Solutions II, not Software Solutions II.
In the first issue, I have a guided tour of Apple Expo West, which in many
ways I think of as a resource guide. There's a continuation of my inCider
Grapevine column, but it's been broken into 2 different regular columns:
Modem Madness now contains items of interest to modem users and Grapevine
has items of interest to all Apple II owners. In both columns, I list a few
money saving deals that I was able to set up for people, including 50% off
on anything from Seven Hills. In Issue #2, all the special deals will be
grouped into a new column, named of course, Such A Deal.
There's a first look at System 6.0.1 with some special work around solutions
to navigate through a few 6.0.1 bugs. There's also an article that gives
step-by-step instructions of how to work with System 5 style icons when
using System 6, and an application's rIcon's over ride your custom Icons.
There's also a listing of dozens of disks for IIe/IIc and IIGS, containing
freeware and shareware, available from Shareware Solutions.
In Issue #2, I'll have a write up of KansasFest, and will be including many
more "Such A Deal" offers on current Apple II/IIGS hardware and software.
Those deals are not available from me; I just enjoy setting them up.
I'm up in the air right now as to whether Issue #2 will contain a long
article about the Internet, or a long article about everything the FTA had
created. And, of course, there will be more Modem Madness and Grapevine.
In any case, SSII comes with a money back guarantee.
Subscription rates for US, Canada, Mexico is $25 for 12 issues. Note that is
not a one year subscription; it's 12 issues. The rest of the world, who gets
SSII by Air Mail, will be set back $40 for a subscription.
I hope to have Issue #2 in the mail on or about Sept 1st. Will I or won't I?
I guess we'll find out at midnight on 8/31/93.
