Thanks for the comments Ian. :) However, nobody has mentioned any
such problems to date. If you'd like to make a bug report, we will
look into it, but considering the established user base and extensive
beta test, I think that if there was any noticable important bug it
would have shown up by now in someone's complaint.
Anyhow, the original question was how T2 compares to Phantasm. Excuse
me if I'm a little biased, but these are pretty much facts anyhow :-)
First, T2 will run all Phantasm effects. Speaking of effects,
Twilight II comes with over 40 affects and over 20 hand drawn
animations for use with the YouDrawIt module, compared to Phantasm's
measily seven. The Twilight II manual is about 50 pages, very noticably
dwarfing Phantasm's sparse documentation. But don't let the large manual
fool you, Twilight II is still very easy to use. We beta tested it for
close to two years, after all.
Second, Twilight II blanks the text, DHR, LGR, HGR, and GR screens (in
addition to the GS desktop.) Phantasm only does the desktop.
Twilight II modules have the capability to be much more functionally
complex than is possible with Phantasm or Desktop Enhancer. Watch for
even more stunning effects!
Also, only twilight II features random mode, where you can blank with
a different module each time, and also the ability to combine the
effects of modules. Not even After Dark allows that.
I could go on, but I'll be brief. :-) To wrap up, another important reason
is simply that we're committed to maintaining, supporting, and updating our
products. Will you ever see an update to Phantasm? Nope. Will you see
an update to T2? Yes. Will your suggestions have an impact on that update?
Yes. I wish I could say the same for the competition.
Sorry if this came across too ad-like! Just ask other owners if you like! :)
