Peculiar problem (maybe)
Maybe peculiar or maybe a problem? You decide.
For the last week or so, when I quit from the Finder, the screen just
clears, no dialog informing it's OK to power down appears. This might be
a problem if everything isn't flushed to disk, as it should. What makes
it peculiar is that I haven't added/deleted any system files, i.e.
inits, da's, etc.
Any guesses to a possible cause? Probably not, this is vague as hell.
(I'm getting a bit tired of unexplainable problems anyway. Soon after
describing my problem witch SwitchIt/HardPressed/GSCII+ I started to
experience crashings during the start-up process. Turned out the Finder
crashed after drawing the Extras menu, so I figured some Finder
extension(s) were causing problems. I then started removing them one by
one, and as it turned out, had to remove almost all of them, of which
many I found very useful. Among others, this included most FExts from
the SixPack-package. However, I *still* get the 300K complaint from the
Finder if I load SwitchIt, too. Argh.)
