    Sounds like FlashCard or FlashRAM technology...  I hear some PCMCIA
(hope I spelled that right) manufacturers are looking at FlashRAM
modules for laptops and notebooks.  It doesn't seem to be catching on
though, especially with 2.5" and 1" low-power hard drives...

    Access probably isn't much faster than an HD floppy, but throughput
is rated at 2 to 3 times faster than a regular 3.5".
