Repair/Diagnostic help needed

OK, here's the story-

After picking up an Imagewriter II to replace my mom's decrepit Imagewriter
I installed the new printer, checked it out and turned her Apple ][e
off.  The next time I turned the ][e on I got an error message saying
"Unable to load ProDOS."  I thought that my problem was a dead drive
controller card since it was only checking the a drive and never
reached the b drive.  I got a replacement drive controller card but
that, unfortunately, didn't solve the problem.

So, basically, I'm at loss as to what's wrong with the system.  Any
help anybody could give me would be greatly appreciated.

System:

Apple ][e w/DuoDrive
ProDOS 3.3 (I think.  Can't find my sheet of notes.)
