No, I don't believe this is the problem.  Many of us may receive our
netnews for free (relatively speaking - I'm paying $18 thou a year to
go to Carnegie Mellon University, and I happen to have access to
netnews).  Some people actually pay for the news feeds they receive -
whether through Proline and a long distance phone call, or some kind
of mainframe charge (I'm being deliberately vague here because I don't
know the details).  These people have the right to complain when
something large appears on this newsgroup....
