SCSI Interface Card
I've watched the recent conversations on SCSI cards with some
interest as I'd like to replace my IIGS's Apple SCSI-Rev A
card with something a lot more reliable (and something
that will allow 1:1 rather than 2:1 disk formatting).
The two choices discussed seem to be RamFast and Apple High-Speed.
Given that I also have a Wangtek Q-150 drive available, I've also
read with fascination arguments as to whether, or not, AHS supports
such with/without special software (GS-tape) and whether RamFast
does/doesn't do the same. I've noticed, in terror, the debates
about revision level on the RamFast, funny settings to avoid
cache coherency problems with certain hardware, etc, etc.
If you were in a similar situation, and trying to minimize future
grief, would you buy a RamFast or AHS?
The card will be driving a (groan) Apple SC-20 drive.
The IIGS is a stock ROM01 with 4.25 Megabytes, and has NO added
cards except for the Apple SCSI REV A and the 4MB Sequential Systems
memory card.
