itself as such in its ROM when the RESET handler comes a-looking, and

No doubt there is a more convoluted solution ...

So, the problem is that the /RESET line is not held down long enough?

That's a pretty easy fix, too--again a single capacitor.

In fact, any card is allowed to hold down the /RESET line, as the
Disk ][ Controller card does.
