    Unfortunately, the monitor won't turn itself off after 'x' number of
minutes if you're called away from the computer by your spouse, friends,
children, phone, nature, etc.  ;-)  Besides, I try to use the power
switch on my computer equipment as little as possible.  On in the
morning (or whenever I first use it), then off before hitting the sack
at night.
