Nope, that's a feature. :) It yells at maximum volume (thoroughly annoying)
and then waits for you to hit a return, or an esc (go ahead or abort
respectively). It won't do anything until you hit one of those keys.

I found the r/w "lights" very useful with my InnerDrive SCSI, but wished for
a way to lose the format warning. It does have incompatibilies with other
software besides HardPressed as well (it blacks out the screen in Tunnels of
Armageddon, and crashes with several other inits/das/whatever, unless you're
very careful about load order).
