This is in fact correct.  Actually, a lot of newer printers have several
options for interfacing:  serial (RS-232), Parallel (Centronics), Apple Talk,
etc.  Some are even smart enough that you can plug different computers into
each input at the same time!

The Imagewriter II will print straight text (ACSII), so you don't need a
driver for it (unless you're running something stupid enough that it can't
even output ASCII, like Windows).  If this is the case, then I would think
that any dumb terminal device, ASCII device, etc. should work.  Now, to
print GRAPHICS or different fonts, character sizes, etc, then you would
need a driver.  WordPerfect 5.1 comes with an Imagewriter driver.  Don't
know about windows.
