I'll correct you.  You're wrong.  :-)

The IIgs "AppleColor RGB Monitor" is not the same as the Macintosh
"AppleColor High Resolution RGB Monitor".  The latter is larger (13
inches), has much better pixel resolution (640 x 480 works) and costs
more.

Both of these are different to the old IIe-compatible RGB monitor,
which uses digital RGB rather than analog RGB.

The Macintosh 12 inch monitor is also different from the IIgs monitor.


I don't know if the IIgs monitor can be used on a Macintosh.  I
suspect you would need a different cable, and the picture quality
would be pretty bad, if it worked at all.

The main problem is probably the cable pinout.  I don't know how the
Mac identifies which monitor is connected.
